The web is not wide, the monitor makes you feel that
I made my first PHP script in 2004 and started the first project in the summer of 2005. Since then I realized that I had found the perfect tool and I focused on it. I studied more of it during faculty and started a series of projects. Some of them may be considered a "fool's work", as I never got any money out of them. However, I wanted to gain just a little bit of experience and I was aware that programming can only be learnt like math: through exercise.
At present I have my own framework, I like PHP5, I am able to design my own database... and I keep working. I'm a middle-advanced programmer and I will always say "middle" because I there will always be something to learn in this field.
HTML and CSS are two different languages, completing one another. We aren't talking about programming languages but we are talking about the foundation of the web. This is the beginning of the web and therefore the start for every web-developer.
I began to study more about HTML after I started my first project and after that, I got the XHTML concept. Now, I like it and I like to make it valid (as strict as I can). CSS is a "thing" that can make a web page look good. The only problem for a developer is to be able to make a good-looking page for all browsers. That’s why I test my layouts on IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox 2.0, Firefox 3.0, Opera, Chrome and Safari, so as to avoid any problems.
When we say "web", we also say "marketing". The web is about sales and about promoting. A web site without a great design is like marketing done by a poorly dressed person. My first web page was made in Flash, in the summer of 2003 and I liked it a lot, because I could see reflected through it my entire imagination (from that time).
Also, a web page must have a powerful logo, in order to represent the image of the entire company. A logo must have its own psychology and must convey everything through one small but unique image.
